The ALEC Team recently discovered we had a prize winning videographer in our midst and wanted to find out more. Prior to joining us, Research Fellow and Evidence Officer Dr Shannon Barnes took out the University of Adelaide’s Visualise Your Thesis competition with ‘The world is caving in: parental trauma after intensive care’. Next up she’ll be using these skills to help us explain living evidence to a broader audience in a new series of ALEC explainer videos covering guidelines, flagship projects like LEAPP and consumer involvement across all of ALEC’s work programs.

ALEC Communications Director Shauna Hurley was also keen to contribute to the growing COVID evidence base, co-authoring a recently published Cochrane review that explores the different approaches governments and health authorities around the world used to communicate critical public health information throughout the pandemic.
Last month Shauna and lead co-author Rebecca Ryan submitted the review along with five key recommendations to the Australian Government’s Inquiry into the National COVID Response.
